Colonsay is proud to host several exciting events and festivals throughout the year. 

Book Festival - April

Conversations @ The Edge, Colonsay's Book Festival, is in April. It has recently featured famous Scottish authors such as Ian Rankin, Alexander McCall Smith, Val McDermid, Candia McWilliam and Mairi Hedderwick, it always promises to be a feast of Scottish writing.

Festival of Spring -April to May
Colonsay is holding its FESTIVAL OF SPRING in May. It will run for 3 weeks and will offer an extraordinary range of guided walks, talks, activities, lectures and workshops. From birds and wildflowers to painting and sculpting, foraging and cooking and photography courses. There will be some evening events as well. Something for everyone!

 Colonsay Folk Festival - September
The COLONSAY FOLK FESTIVAL will be staged in September. Attracting the cream of Scotland's folk music talent, this event sells out very fast!

Colonsay Food and Drink Festival - October
The Colonsay FOOD and DRINK Festival will run in October for 2 weeks. We have celebrity experts demonstrating, presenting and tasting From tastings to baking, preserving, foraging and cooking sessions. Plenty also for children; baking, jam making, craft sessions, treasure hunt and outdoor activity trails.

Tuesday - Colonsay House garden and cafe open 12 to 5pm. Lunch and afternoon teas available

Thursday - Colonsay House garden and cafe open 12 to 5pm. Lunch and afternoon teas available

Friday Live local music in the bar from 9pm (not 2020)

Saturday night - Ceilidh in Village Hall from 8pm (summer and school hols only) and pre-ceilidh supper from 6.30pm in The Colonsay (not 2020)
